Keith and Maureen

Keith and Maureen Jaret’s culinary backgrounds are different to say the least. Keith is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. He worked for, and alongside many highly trained European chefs in such establishments as Windows On the World, Le Mirabelle, Le Petit Auberge, and Mortimer’ Restaurant, before taking the helm at Café 43, a 180 seat restaurant owned by Hilton International. In addition, he has worked in large scale catering halls, hotels, and corporate executive dinning.

Then you have Maureen, who met Keith while she was working on Wall Street. Maureen was looking for an outlet from the world of finance, and decided to apply as a hostess at Windows On The World.  She was directed by the owners to nearby Café 43 and it was there she met Keith, who was the chef at the time.  After one taste, she knew that his food was something special and decided to leave Wall Street behind and go into business with Keith. In 1987, shortly after their wedding, they launched A Savoire-Affaire, a successful catering company. They also ran Restaurant Ole, a Nuevo Latino restaurant and ballroom, at the Winfield Scott.

Keith has developed a culinary style that embraces European techniques with American ingenuity. It is this “homegrown” style that he brings to his innovative cuisine. He believes that all foods have their own personality and it is his job to develop those personalities into a successful dining experience

In July, 2001 The Petite Cafe opened in Nutley, NJ. The café served breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as provided catering services. In 2004, the first Stuffed Cupcake™ came out of the oven hot and delicious.
