It is selling a cupcake called “The Boss” … a special stuffed cupcake baked by The Petite Cafe … Home of the Stuffed Cupcakes in Nutley.

The vanilla and acai-berry flavored cupcake is filled with a blueberry mousse and topped with vanilla icing. It is said to be Springsteen’s favorite cupcake at Sickles.

The cupcake creation was a collaboration between The Petite Cafe and Sickles Market. According to The Petite Cafe, Sickles Market was aware that Springsteen is a fan of blueberries and informed the bakery, so they were sure to use that in the creation of his cupcake.

But, of course, “”The Boss” can be anyone’s favorite.

“Cupcakes are popular now,” said Bob Sickles of Sickles Market. “It’s a controlled luxury indulgence.”

Sickles said the market began selling the stuffed cupcakes to kick off a “Jersey Makes” campaign in the market to sell food products made in New Jersey.

The cupcakes sell for $2.99 each in Sickles.

The Petite Cafe also makes a large variety of other stuffed cupcakes ranging from a classic chocolate cupcake filled with vanilla mousse and topped with chocolate and vanilla icing to The Elvis, a peanut butter cupcake filled with banana mousse and topped with chocolate icing.
